Historical Value of FDIA NGO Foundation

1808

Establishment of the Foundation, was birth in 1808 by the first Italian who emigrated to Argentina.

1810

Foundation FDIA participates in the creation of the blue-white symbol of Argentina.

1812

General Manuel Belgrano, full name Manuel José Joaquín del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Belgrano y Peri (Buenos Aires, June 3, 1770 - Buenos Aires, June 20, 1820), was an economist, politician, Argentine general and member of the Foundation FDIA. He participated in the defense of Buenos Aires during the British invasions, the May Revolution, the Argentine War of Independence and, marginally, the Argentine Civil Wars. It was the creator of the flag of Argentina on June 20th while he was on the banks of the Parana River in the town where stands the present city of Rosario. Distinguished member of the Foundation FDIA.

1860

The Foundation FDIA collaborated in the liberation of Italy, contributing financially to the expedition of the "Thousand" of Giuseppe Garibaldi. The Expedition of the "Thousand" was the crucial episode of the Risorgimento. It happened in 1860 when a thousand volunteers, under the command of Giuseppe Garibaldi, set off in the night between 5 and 6 May from Quarto, in the territory of the Kingdom of Sardinia to Sicily, in the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies allowing the annexation to the nascent Italian state.

1870

The FDIA Foundation founded the Belgrano district, located north of Buenos Aires (Argentina) in honor of General Manuel Belgrano.

1873

The FDIA Foundation contributes to the construction of the Presidential Palace which is now the Sarmiento Historical Museum in the Belgrano district of Buenos Aires.

1874

Nicolas Avellaneda, eminent member of the FDIA Foundation, was appointed President of Argentina taking office on October 12, 1874 at the age of 37.

1895

Officially transformed into a Foundation on August 15, 1895.

After 1910

The FDIA Foundation contributed to the vaccination of the Argentine people against the yellow lever of Rio de Janeiro. Between World War I and World War II, the FDIA Foundation supported and collaborated with Europe by socially helping people in difficulty with the intervention of vaccines, food pharmaceutical systems, etc.

1958

One of the members of the FDIA Foundation: Arturo Frondizi, of Italian origin, was elected President of Argentina on May 1 of the same year.

1962

The Argentine FDIA Foundation maintained active cooperation with different Italian companies.

1980

The FDIA Foundation constructed a school with a capacity of 330 children in the province of Chaco in the town of Roque Sáenz Peña.

1983

The FDIA Foundation resumed its activities in Argentina to propose and carry out renovation work.

1990

The FDIA Foundation donated another school building to the province of Buenos Aires in the municipality of Ranelagh in Argentina, also building a school canteen for 250 children.

1997

The FDIA Foundation participated in the drafting of the old Kyoto protocol on tiles. During the 90s, it carried out several works in collaboration with other institutions and countries.

In November 2010

The FDIA Foundation participated in the international assembly of old alternative energies in Bucharest, Romania, and the Japanese supervisor Shuji Nakarnura was awarded the Nobel Prize in 2014 for the invention of LED lamps.

FDIA is an NGO with legal consultative status as a member of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 2010.

2012

The FDIA Foundation created a work as a Direction of BOND GREEN in Brazil by Mato Grosso.

2013

The FDIA Foundation produced drinking water systems in the provinces of Salta, Tucumán, and Catamarca (Argentina).

2014-2015-2016-2017

To date, the FDIA Foundation has contributed to several projects around the world with its technical and financial partners (Social Assistance, Fight against Hunger, Training and Education, Health). It has also conducted studies on new technologies for medicines for the good of humanity, designing projects for Libya and Tunisia in the north of Cartagena, including the new home water network, sewers, and drains with their respective sewage plants.

2018

The FDIA Foundation carried out many conferences in Cameroon to educate young people about the disadvantages of illegal immigration, proposing educational, humanitarian, and pedagogical programmes aimed at fighting and avoiding illegal immigration from Sub-Saharan Africa in countries of departure such as Benin, Cameroon, and Chad. It also assisted young people in realizing their life projects and helped those returning from abroad reintegrate into their country with employment and social integration programmes. PORTUGAL NEWS IN 2018! Fundación Democratica Italo-Americana represented by President executive Lawyer Prof Vincenzo Cortegiani,General Director Dr. Fabio Rosati and Manuel Francisco Ferreira dos Santos legal rapresentative in Portugal; we have opened a permanent representation in Portugal,specifically in Santa Maria da Feira and Lisboa. The opening of this representation represents a significant step in expanding the humanitarian action of the foundation in Europe, offering a replicable and innovative model for supporting communities in emergency situations. This initiative strengthens the link between the international commitment of the foundation and the concrete needs of vulnerable populations, contributing in a tangible way to social and housing reconstruction.

2019

The FDIA Foundation presented, for scientific and humanitarian purposes, a preliminary project for a multifunctional hospital to His Excellency the Minister of Health in Tunisia. The project aimed at redeveloping the health sector, including the renovation of operating theatres and sterilisation centres in public hospitals, as well as strengthening the ambulance fleet.

2020

The FDIA Foundation cooperated with local farmers in Cameroon to provide economic support in innovative technological fields in the agriculture sector, ensuring “FAIR TRADE AS AN ENGINE FOR DEVELOPMENT AND GROWTH”. In the same year, it developed welfare programmes to help abandoned and orphaned children in Cameroon.

2021

The FDIA Foundation supported the fight against COVID-19 by providing personal protective equipment. In Sudan, it initiated research and development to supply clean, safe, potable, and reliable water. Our association is committed to promoting reforestation initiatives and raising public awareness of the importance of ecology and the use of advanced technology for monitoring smart agro industry & forest quality.

2023

On September 10, 2023, storm Daniel hits Libya, causing heavy rainfall, flooding, and the collapse of two dams. The scenario immediately appears dramatic, the FUNDACIÓN DEMOCRÁTICA ITALO AMERICANA, FDIA -REPRESENTAÇÃO PERMANENTE helps the Libyan population in a humanitarian purpose by providing medicines and medical devices.
